Pressure-cook soaked horse gram until soft.

Boil cooked gram with garlic, pepper, cumin, and salt for 10 minutes.

Lightly mash and strain if desired.

🍛 2. South Indian Kollu Rasam
Ingredients

Cooked horse gram – 1 cup

Tamarind water – ½ cup

Pepper – 1 tsp

Cumin – 1 tsp

Method

Grind pepper, cumin, garlic.

Add to cooked horse gram with tamarind water and salt.

Simmer 8–10 minutes.

Temper mustard seeds, curry leaves, and add.
🍚 3. Horse Gram Curry (Simple)
Ingredients

Cooked horse gram – 1 cup

Onion – 1 (chopped)

Tomato – 1 (chopped)

Spices: turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder
Method

Sauté onion, ginger-garlic.

Add tomato and spices.

Add cooked horse gram and simmer 10 minutes.
🌱 4. Sprouted Horse Gram Stir-Fry
Ingredients

Sprouted horse gram – 1 cup

Onion – 1

Green chili – 1

Cumin – ½ tsp
Method

Lightly pressure-cook sprouts (3 whistles).

Sauté cumin, onion, chili.

Add sprouts and salt; stir-fry 5 minutes.
🌾 5. Horse Gram Chutney Powder (Kollu Podi)
Ingredients

Horse gram – 1 cup

Dry red chilies – 6

Garlic – 6 cloves

Cumin – 1 tsp

Salt
Method

Dry-roast horse gram until aromatic.

Roast chilies, garlic, cumin.

Grind into powder.

Store airtight.
